Объединяет условия из other, если other является ActiveRecord::Relation. Возвращает массив, представляющий пересечение результирующих записей с other, если other является массивом.

Post.where(published: true).merge(recent_posts)

При объединении будут выполнены Proc:

Post.where(published: true).merge(-> { joins(:comments) })
# => Post.where(published: true).joins(:comments)

Этот метод в основном предназначен для совместного использования общих условий в нескольких ассоциациях.

Для условий, присутствующих в обеих связях, приоритет будет у условий из other. Чтобы найти пересечение двух связей, используйте QueryMethods#and.
